Earlier that month Peter Robinson and Martin McGuinness, First Minister and deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland respectively, announced a new strategy for building a shared future entitled ‘Together: Building a United Community’. This strategy included a proposal to remove peace walls within ten years. In a poll conducted by the Nolan Live television programme 21% of Protestants and 10% of Catholics said that the walls should never come down. Collins and Wilson discuss the potential impact of removing the peace walls. The Nolan Show is BBC Radio Ulster’s daily current affairs programme.
