Audio interview with John Ware, journalist and investigative reporter, by Cathal MacCoille for RTE Radio 1 Morning Ireland on 21 November 2013. In Ware’s BBC Panorama documentary to be broadcast later that night former members of a specially formed unit within the British Army, the MRF, admitted to shooting unarmed civilians in the early 1970s as part of their search for IRA targets. One day previously John Larkin, Northern Ireland Attorney-General, had suggested that an end be brought to all prosecutions, inquests and public enquiries related to the Troubles. Ware discusses the implications of his documentary and responds to John Larkin’s proposals. Morning Ireland is RTE Radio 1’s early morning current affairs broadcast.
