Interview with John Major on 14 December 1994

Transcript of an interview with John Major, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, on 14 December 1994. Two months earlier the Combined Loyalist Military Command announced a paramilitary ceasefire. On 31 August the Provisional IRA had also announced a cessation of military activities. On 13 December a two day investment conference took place in Belfast although Sinn Féin representatives were excluded from the event. In this interview Major discusses the stability of these ceasefires and the potential for economic investment in Northern Ireland following these developments in the Peace Process.
