Interview with John Major on 13 October 1994

Transcript of an interview with John Major, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, on 13 October 1994. Earlier that day the Combined Loyalist Military Command announced a paramilitary ceasefire. On 31 August the Provisional IRA had also announced a cessation of military activities. In this interview Major discusses the permanency of these ceasefires and the potential for future negotiations with the political representatives of nationalism and unionism in Northern Ireland.
