Transcript of an interview with Jeffrey Donaldson, UUP MP for Lagan Valley, by John Humphrys for BBC On the Record on 8 October 2000. Despite the UUP voting to go back into government with Sinn Féin there is still a sizeable minority within his party opposed to it. Jeffrey Donaldson is one of the most vocal opponents of power-sharing with Sinn Féin within the UUP. Humphrys questions him on his stance. The issue of reform of the RUC is also discussed. Donaldson, responding to a question from Humphrys, does not believe a leadership challenge in the UUP is in the offing. On the Record was BBC's flagship political programme.
