Interview with Jeffrey Donaldson by John Humphrys for BBC On the Record on 13 October 2002

Published:

Transcript of an interview with Jeffrey Donaldson, UUP MP for Lagan Valley, by John Humphrys for BBC On the Record on 13 October 2002. With increasing violence on the streets and many Unionists believing that Sinn Féin and the IRA are not living up to their responsibilities, the UUP are maneuvering to exclude them from the Executive. The SDLP are to vote against this and as Sinn Féin are unlikely to resign voluntarily it becomes likely that the institutions are to be suspended once more. Jeffrey Donaldson believes that Sinn Féin should be excluded from the Executive and that any future participation of them in the institutions should be contingent upon the IRA being disbanded permanently. On the Record was BBC's flagship political programme.
