Interview with Gerry Kelly by Wendy Austin for BBC Radio Ulster Talkback on 26 September 2012

Published:

Audio interview with Gerry Kelly, Sinn Fein MLA for Belfast North, by Wendy Austin for BBC Radio Ulster Talkback on 26 September 2012. Earlier that day the Parades Commission determined that a large public parade to mark the centenary of the Ulster Covenant could take place in Belfast three days later with musical and attendee restrictions coming into effect outside St. Patrick’s Church in north Belfast. The city had seen heightened tension between communities over the parading issue earlier that summer and during September itself. Kelly discusses the Commission’s ruling and the potential for the commemorative centenary calendar to contribute to peace in Northern Ireland. Talkback is BBC Radio Ulster’s daily afternoon phone-in programme.
