Audio interview with a Belfast member of the Orange Order and Gerry Kelly, Sinn Fein MLA for Belfast North, by Stephen Nolan for BBC Radio Ulster the Nolan Show on 18 July 2013. On 9 July the Parades Commission ruled that an Orange Order parade could not pass through the Ardoyne area of Belfast on its return journey on 12 July, a decision which led to clashes between protesters and the PSNI in north and east Belfast for several days. On 17 July the Orange Order applied through the Parades Commission to march through the Ardoyne area three days later, an application subsequently rejected. The interviewees discuss the potential impact of the Orange Order’s application on tensions in the area. The Nolan Show is a daily current affairs programme on BBC Radio Ulster.
