Video interview with Gerry Adams, vice president of Sinn Féin, by Fred Emery for BBC Panorama in 1982. In April of that year the Provisional IRA detonated bombs in Belfast, Derry/Londonderry, Armagh, Ballymena, Bessbrook and Magherafelt killing two and injuring 12 while further bombs at Hyde Park and Regent’s Park in London in July killed 11 British soldiers and injured many civilians. In this interview Adams discusses the attitude of the republican movement to violence and the future development of Sinn Féin. Panorama is a BBC current affairs programme and the world’s longest running public affairs programme on television.
