Transcript of an interview with David Trimble, leader of the UUP, by John Humphrys for the BBC On the Record on 8 March 1998. With time running out for agreement to be reached at the all-party talks, Trimble reiterates his belief that Sinn Féin should not have been allowed to participate. In response to Humphrys suggestion that there were positive noises Trimble says he wishes people were more realistic. He discloses that the Ulster Unionist Party have been in talks with the Irish government regarding Articles 2 and 3 of the Irish Constitution. On the Record was BBC's flagship political programme.
