Interview with Chris Lyttle, William Dick and Stephen Burns by Lisa McAllister for BBC Radio Ulster The Nolan Show on 28 November 2013

Published:

Audio interview with Chris Lyttle (Alliance Party MLA for Belfast East), William Dick (DUP Rowallane councillor on Down District Council) and Stephen Burns (Sinn Fein Rowallane councillor on Down District Council), by Lisa McAllister for BBC Radio Ulster The Nolan Show on 28 November 2013. Earlier that month a motion to introduce the flying of the Union flag on designated days at Down District Council was proposed and supported by the DUP. This resolution was later defeated by a Council vote. The decision came almost one year to the day when Belfast City Council voted to only fly the Union flag over Belfast City Hall on designated days. The latter decision prompted political opposition from unionist political parties and almost two months of flag protests in the city. Lyttle, Dick and Burns discuss the outcome of the Council vote. The Nolan Show is a daily current affairs programme on BBC Radio Ulster.
