In that same month Faulkner resigned as Minister for Commerce in Terence O'Neill's administration over the potential findings on local government in Northern Ireland by the Cameron Commission. Faulkner discusses the reasons for his resignation and its potential impact on politics in Northern Ireland. Faulkner later became Prime Minister of Northern Ireland in March 1971.
