Interview with Barry McElduff and Arlene Foster by Stephen Nolan for BBC Radio Ulster The Nolan Show on 7 August 2013

Published:

Audio interview with Barry McElduff, Sinn Fein MLA for West Tyrone, and Arlene Foster, Northern Ireland Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Investment, by Stephen Nolan for the Nolan Show on 7 August 2013. Four days later a Sinn Fein march passed off peacefully in Castlederg, Co. Tyrone. It had been organised in commemoration of two members of the IRA who were killed in Castlederg in 1973 when the bombs they were transporting exploded. In the weeks leading up to the event the DUP had called on the Parades Commission to ban the march while Theresa Villiers had called on Sinn Fein to voluntarily cancel the parade. A unionist counter-demonstration during the march also passed off peacefully. In this interview McElduff and Foster discuss the political difficulties surrounding the parade. The Nolan Show is a daily current affairs programme on BBC Radio Ulster.
