Interview with Arlene Foster and Barry McElduff by Stephen Nolan for BBC Radio Ulster The Nolan Show on 31 July 2013

Published:

Audio interview with Arlene Foster, Northern Ireland Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Investment, and Barry McElduff, Sinn Fein MLA for West Tyrone, by Stephen Nolan for BBC Radio Ulster the Nolan Show on 31 July 2013. Earlier that month the DUP called on the Parades Commission to prevent a Sinn Fein march taking place in Castlederg, Co. Tyrone in commemoration of two members of the IRA who were killed in 1973 when the bombs they were transporting exploded. The dispute arose only weeks after the Parades Commission had ruled that an Orange Order parade could not pass through the Ardoyne area of Belfast on its return journey on 12 July, a decision which led to clashes between protesters and the PSNI in north and east Belfast for several days. Foster and McElduff discuss the contentious parade. The interviewees also respond to the questions of Trevor Clarke, a member of a local victims organisation. The Nolan Show is a daily current affairs programme on BBC Radio Ulster.
