Social Media Terms and Conditions

  1. This competition is open to Queen Mary University of London students, alumni and staff only.
  2. Employees connected in any way with the creation/implementation of the competition will not be permitted to enter.
  3. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.
  4. The competition will commence at 09:00 GMT on 1 December 2019 and all entries must be received by 09:00 GMT on 19 December 2019. The University accepts no responsibility for any entries that are incomplete, ineligible, corrupted or fail to be submitted by the relevant closing date for any reason. Entries via agents or third parties are invalid.
  5. To enter, entrants must post a photo festive themed photo in London, with a brief caption including the hashtag #QMULfestive.
  6. 1 winner will be selected by a judging panel and contacted privately via social media to arrange delivery of their prize.
  7. The prize for the winner is a £50 Amazon voucher.
  8. The University’s decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into.
  9. Prizes are non-transferrable and no cash alternative will be offered.
  10. Prizes are subject to availability. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the University reserves the right (a) to substitute alternative prizes of equivalent or greater value and (b) in exceptional circumstances to amend or foreclose the competition without notice. No correspondence will be entered into.
  11. The winner agrees to the use of their name and image in any publicity material. Any personal data is submitted voluntarily. All personal data relating to entrants, those depicted in an entry and the winner will be used solely in accordance with UK data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to any third party.   12. By entering this competition each entrant confirms that their submissions are their wholly-owned creations and that, to the extent that such entries make use of any third party materials, these have been fully cleared unless they are no longer protected by copyright or other intellectual property rights.
  13. By submitting an entry, each entrant grants the University a perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to edit, publish, translate, modify, adapt, make available and distribute the entry throughout the world in any media now known or hereafter invented.
  14. Each entrant also confirms that anyone depicted in an entry has given their permission for the inclusion of their image in the entry and the use of the entry including their image by the entrant and the University as set out above. If it transpires that this is not the case, an entry may be deemed invalid and a winner may forfeit any prize
  15. This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by or associated with Instagram, Facebook, Twitter or any other social network. You are providing your submission to Queen Mary University of London and not to any other party.
  16. These terms and conditions are governed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

By entering the competition, each entrant agrees to be bound by these terms and conditions.
