Queen Mary welcomes Sichuan University to campus for the first time since 2019

Queen Mary University of London welcomed a delegation from Sichuan University to their London campus for the first time since 2019.

Our partnership with Sichuan University 

Sichuan University is a public university based in Chengdu, China – and is regarded as one of the top institutions in China and currently has approximately 70,000 students enrolled. 

Queen Mary has been working with Sichuan University since 2006. The collaboration between the two institutions is supported by the Sichuan Government, and we have a number of progression agreements with Sichuan University, that cover every single School and Institute at Queen Mary.

The delegation from Sichuan University were welcomed on our Whitechapel campus by colleagues from the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry on Wednesday 24 January. After receiving a tour of the campus, collaborative discussions focused on: 

  • Strengthening cooperation in the field of Medicine.
  • Deepening cooperation on summer school programmes.
  • A University Immersion Programme.

President and Principal of Queen Mary, Professor Colin Bailey CBE, said: “It is a pleasure to welcome colleagues from Sichuan University. Queen Mary has a long-standing, multidisciplinary relationship with Sichuan and I look forward to enhancing our relationship in the future.
