QMUL’s Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry has made a significant leap forward this year, with Dentistry jumping from 11th place in the Complete University Guide 2014, to top place in the latest table. Medicine has also jumped three places from seventh place last year.
Several other subjects at QMUL also appear in the UK top 10, including Drama, which is ranked 2nd out of 94 universities offering the course. Law is up from 17th to 10th, Linguistics is rated 8th and Russian / East European Languages 7th.
The Complete University Guide is compiled from Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) data on university entry standards, student-staff ratios, spending on academic services, spending on facilities, good honours degrees, graduate prospects, completion and overseas student enrolments.
Professor Richard Trembath, Vice-Principal for Health at Queen Mary University of London, Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, comments: “We are proud of our achievements in providing the highest standards in Medical and Dental education, recognised in the latest Complete University Guide league tables. To be identified as leaders in training the next generation of doctors and dentists is a reflection of our dedicated and talented academics and all who support our teaching services.”
