Once a month the Queen Mary Legal Advice Centre offers free advice to people who are involved in the creative industries and have a legal concern relating to their work. If you are a budding web-designer, musician, artist, writer, sculptor, designer or actor who cannot afford to access the legal advice you need then we may be able to help. The Law for the Arts centre was the first university in London to dedicate an advice evening specifically for those working in the creative industries.
Jessica asked the Queen Mary Legal Advice Centre to provide her advice on setting up her own business called ‘The Art List.’ Her aim is to set up a website primarily targeted at couples who are about to marry and will allow wedding guests to purchase art work as gifts through an online service. To set up the business Jessica needed to produce a contract for prospective artists who wished to display their art on the website, a contract for customers and a contract with her business partner.
