How to apply

Students who have successfully completed A-Levels or the International Baccalaureate will be considered for direct entry onto our undergraduate degrees. We may also consider recognised Foundation qualifications. For individual grade requirements for particular degree programmes please refer to the undergraduate study section of this website. 

We also consider students from Ireland with the following qualifications:

  • Irish Leaving Certificate

Our exact requirements depend on the course that you are applying for, but students usually need to pass a minimum of five subjects at higher level, with certain grades in subjects relevant to the degree course.

This is Queen Mary’s equivalency table for the Irish Leaving Certificate:

We normally consider the following qualifications for entry to our postgraduate taught programmes: Honours Bachelor Degree from a recognised institution.

UK 1st class degree: First Class Honours
UK 2:1 degree: Second Class Honours Grade I
UK 2:2 degree: Second Class Honours Grade II
