How to apply

Students who have successfully completed A-Levels or the International Baccalaureate will be considered for direct entry onto our undergraduate degrees. We may also consider recognised Foundation qualifications. For individual grade requirements for particular degree programmes please refer to the undergraduate study section of this website.

We also consider students from Denmark with the following qualifications:

  • Bevis for Studentereksamen (STX) or Hojere Forberedelseseksamen (HF)

This is Queen Mary’s equivalency table for GCE A-Levels and the STX/HF:

We do not include bonus points when considering the overall grade average.

Undergraduate Medicine and Dentistry Admissions

Please note, the STX/HF/HHX/HTX is not accepted for admission to either our MBBS or BDS programmes (but is accepted for all other undergraduate programmes). However, the STX/HF/HHX/HTX may be accepted for our MBBS programme delivered in the Republic of Malta.

Postgraduate

We normally consider the following qualifications for entry to our postgraduate taught programmes: Bachelor degree from a recognised institution.

UK 1st class degree: 12 out of 12 (2007 onwards); or 11 out of 13 (before 2007)
UK 2:1 degree: 7 out of 12 (2007 onwards); or 8 out of 13 (before 2007)
UK 2:2 degree: 4 out of 12 (2007 onwards); or 7 out of 13 (before 2007)
