How to apply

Students who have successfully completed A-Levels or the International Baccalaureate will be considered for direct entry onto our undergraduate degrees. We may also consider recognised Foundation qualifications. For individual grade requirements for particular degree programmes please refer to the undergraduate study section of this website. 

We also consider students from South Africa with the following qualifications:

  • National Senior Certificate (Higher Level subjects)

This is Queen Mary's equivalency table for GCE A-Levels and the National Senior Certificate:

Undergraduate Medicine and Dentistry Admissions

For more detailed information on Medicine and Dentistry requirements and how to apply please refer to the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry section of our website. 

Please note, the National Senior Certificate  is not accepted for admission to our MBBS or BDS programmes that are delivered in London (but it is accepted for all other undergraduate programmes delivered in London). However, the National Senior Certificate is accepted for our MBBS programme delivered in the Republic of Malta.

Postgraduate

We normally consider the following qualifications for entry to our postgraduate taught programmes: NQF Level 8 qualifications such as Bachelor Honours degrees or Professional Bachelor degrees from a recognised institution.

UK 1st class degree: 75%
UK 2:1 degree: 70%
UK 2:2 degree: 60%
