Abstract: Tilli Tansey is a former neuroscientist who abandoned the lab for the library, and became a medical historian specialising in the history of recent biomedicine. She organises and co-edits the ‘Wellcome Witnesses to Modern Medicine’ series, which celebrates its 21st anniversary in 2014. A wide range of topics have been included, and an anthology is about to be published as the 50th volume. She will talk about this series, and some of the problems and the potentials offered by this approach.
