Festival Information and 1:1 Advice Sessions

If you're new to the Festival of Communities or you're not sure where to start in coming up with a table-top activity idea, there is a suite of help and support on offer led by the Centre for Public Engagement team. 

Festival Information Webinars

Join us to find out more about the Festival of Communities and how you can get involved in 2023 at a Festival Information webinar.  

These lunchtime sessions are 30 minutes long and will go through everything you need to know to get started in designing your Festival activity. If you’d like to attend, please register for one of the following dates: 

  • Monday 6 February, 1-1.30pm 
  • Wednesday 22 February, 1-1.30pm 
  • Thursday 2 March, 1-1.30pm  
  • Tuesday 14 March, 1-1.30pm

1:1 Advice Sessions

Book a 1:1 session with the team to discuss your activity ideas and to ask any questions about the Festival. 
Session slots are for 30 minutes and will take place on online.

  • Thursday 23 March, 12pm-2pm
  • Monday 27 March, 9am-11am 
  • Wednesday 29 March, 12pm-1.30pm 

To book a slot:Email us with your preferred date and 30min slot, and if you'd like this to take place on Zoom or Teams. You will receive a calendar invite with link to join the meeting. 

 

 

‘How to design a Festival of Communities activity’ workshop 

This in-person workshop is designed to give you an introduction on how to best engage with drop-in audiences at the Festival of Communities. 
By the end of the session you will: 

  • Understand how best to engage with local residents in short, drop-in interactions typical at the Festival of Communities. 
  • Understand what the benefits and potential challenges are for your activity 
  • Have some understanding of how to creatively design activities for hands-on engagement 

This session will be taking place on Wednesday 15 March 2023 from1pm-4pm.
