Festival of Communities

Queen Mary University of London Mile End Campus

Sunday 11 June 2023, 11.30am-4.30pm

Join us at the People's Palace on the Queen Mary University of London Mile End campus for more activities, stalls and games!

Getting Here

  • Underground

Take the London Underground to Mile End on Hammersmith and City, District and Central lines or Stepney Green on the Hammersmith and City and District lines.

You'll just need to turn left from Mile End station (under the bridge) or right from Stepney Green station (across the traffic crossing) and keep walking for about 5 minutes until you see us!

There are planned engineering works taking place on the District and Hammersmith and City lines on the Festival weekend, so please plan your journey on the TFL website.

  • Bus

If you take the bus, the 205 and 25 bus routes run past the festival and you can jump off at the Queen Mary University of London stop right outside the entrance.

  • Car

There is no parking for cars on the Queen Mary Mile End campus, so please use local street parking and check parking restrictions.

We also recommend typing the postcode E1 4NS into your maps app or journey planning app to find the best way of reaching the festival fun!

Accessibility

All venues at the Festival of Communities are accessible for those with mobility impairments.

Review the AccessAble accessibility guides to the Festival locations on the QM Mile End campus:

Due to their location, two activities for 2022 are not fully accessible:

  • Synch.Live is going to be situated on the stage in the People's Palace which will not be fully accessible for wheelchair users. There are 9 steps up to the stage.
  • The telescope tour hosted by our Physics and Astronomy team is on the roof of G.O. Jones which has steps up to the roof.

Please email the Festival of Communities team at festival@qmul.ac.uk if you have any accessibility queries.
