Our programmes

Our programme is designed to keep you at the forefront of your industry. Building on the foundations of your work experience, you’ll combine academic learning at degree level and on-the-job practical training to acquire the skills required by employers today and in the future. The programme will introduce you to specialist and strategic knowledge – with a strong focus on data analytics – that will enhance your understanding of key issues in business, technology, project and people management and allow you to consider these issues within the context of your workplace.

Systems engineering is an interdisciplinary field of engineering and engineering management that focuses on how to model entities or objects and thereby design and manage complex systems. This programme places a strong emphasis not only on the technical content of our modules, but also on cross disciplinary skills vital for an engineer to be effective in the work place and within the field of systems engineering.

The purpose of the programme is to help build technical capability in the economics and analytical professions.

Utilising the Academic Professional IfATE Standard, we have developed a clinical variant of this programme for educationalists in medical settings. Advance HE is our designated End Point Assessment Organisation, the programme runs for a period of 12 months and is delivered as an open cohort. Queen Mary University of London is an appointed provided on the Health Education England framework as procured through Salisbury.

A Digital and Technology Solutions (DTS) Professional provides technology enabled solutions to internal and/or external customers, in a range of areas including software, business and systems analysis, data analysis and network infrastructure. They implement technology solutions that enable businesses to develop new products and services and to increase an organisation’s productivity using digital technologies.

Data analysts are highly skilled professionals who collect, organise and study data. Day to day, they are typically involved with managing, cleansing, abstracting and aggregating data across the network infrastructure. They report their findings and make recommendations that are key to improving business performance.

The social sector comprises charitable, voluntary and community organisations which deliver public benefit and meet the needs of service users and beneficiaries. This Degree Apprenticeship will enable you to study a BSc Chartered Management qualification specifically tailored for those seeking to build a career in the social sector. You will work towards taking responsibility for people, projects, operations and/or services to deliver long term organisational success and become professionally recognised in your ability to deliver impact. Through engagement with leading practitioners in the sector, you will build a deeper understanding of the unique governance and regulatory environment, of social impact and evaluation, fundraising, finance and project management. You will study at Queen Mary University of London one day a week and work the remaining four days at your sponsoring employer.

Queen Mary University of London is proud to be partnering with Newham College and key employers to deliver degree apprenticeship programmes at the London City Institute of Technology.

Based in a brand new campus opening in 2022 in London City Island, the Institute offers a range of programmes to build skills and grow career opportunities.

Our current offer

We are actively scoping delivery of further programmes both at undergraduate and postgraduate level. To this end, employers are encouraged to make contact if they have an interest in a particular standard that has already been approved, or is in the process of being approved by the Institute for Apprenticeships.

We are also currently engaged in a number of Trailblazer groups and have assisted such groups right through from the Expression of Interest through to consultation and approval by the IfA. We work closely with the ESFA, IfA and QAA so are able to navigate the increasingly complex apprenticeship space to help industry achieve its workforce needs.
