CHILL study reaches recruitment target of 3,200 children

The CHILL study team have met their recruitment target of 3,200 children before next week's deadline of the introduction of the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) in London.

Published:

The recruits consist of two cohorts: 1,600 from London schools and 1,600 from Luton schools.

Air pollution has been shown to stunt children’s lung growth and increase amount of asthma attacks. London’s ULEZ is designed to reduce air pollution caused by traffic in central London.

Children’s Health in London and Luton (CHILL) aims to independently evaluate whether the ULEZ is effective at reducing air pollution in London and therefore improves children’s Health.
