Profile

Sonia leads the organisation’s research on salt reduction, generating robust evidence to monitor salt levels in food and hold the food industry to account on reformulation. She drives impact through evidence-based advocacy, shaping policy and government engagement to support population salt reduction in the UK and internationally.

Sonia also leads the translation of research into high-impact outputs, including reports, briefings and policy recommendations that inform national policy and public debate.

Sonia has a background in Molecular Medicine from the University of Sussex, holds a Masters in Nutrition at Kings College London, and is currently undertaking a PhD exploring the diets of children living in Tower Hamlets.
