Profile

I joined the Barts Clinical Trials Unit in late November 2023, as a Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement Coordinator within the Centre for Evaluations and Methods (CEM).

my role is to ensure a high standard of PPIE is embedded in the portfolio of trials and work, with the support of patient groups and the public.

Prior to QMUL, I held the position of PPIE Programme Manager at The National Institute of Health Research (NIHR); leading on the coordination, support, and delivery of various activities to involve patients and the public in the NIHR's extensive health research processes.

My professional background extends to work in NHS and local community settings. With an NHS Clinical Commissioning Group in East London, I managed a borough wide Patient Participation Group (PPG), support service for GP practices. Additionally, I served as a Community Organisation Lead on a community-led systems change approach project, at a youth charity in Northwest London.

Recognising the importance of empowering people and fostering resilience to effect positive change and personal growth, particularly for those undeserved in our society, is paramount. Through my work, I am committed to continually creating and cultivating collaborative partnerships, enabling us to strive towards meaningful and sustainable change in our communities and broader systems.
