PhD title: Developing a measure of carer burden for people from South Asian backgrounds
In October 2026, I started my PhD in the Centre for Psychiatry and Mental Health, aiming to co-develop a new measure of carer stress for people from South Asian backgrounds caring for people living with dementia. I will work collaboratively with family members and other informal carers to co-produce a new culturally sensitive psychometric measure to help us better understand carers’ experiences.
Before joining Queen Mary, I worked as a Research Assistant at King’s College London on the DETERMIND project, investigating inequalities in care and outcomes following a dementia diagnosis. I completed my undergraduate degree in Neuroscience at the University of Nottingham in 2019.
My research interests include improving access to post-diagnostic dementia support, addressing inequalities, developing psychometric measures, and supporting unpaid carers.
