Profile
I am a health economist and Wellcome Trust PhD researcher in Health Data in Practice, based in the Centre for Evaluation and Methods at the Wolfson Institute of Population Health. My doctoral research asks how Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) shape metabolic health among young people in the UK. I am using cohort data to examine various pathways linking childhood environments to adult mental and physical health, and their long term consequences for health, costs, and inequalities across the life course.
I came to this research after several years in health economics and applied health research. Before joining Queen Mary in 2024, I was a researcher at the Health Economics Research Centre, University of Oxford, where I worked on several NIHR-funded trial- and model-based economic evaluations, including studies of childhood cancer diagnosis and postoperative pain management. Earlier, I was an HTA Analyst at Ireland’s Health Information and Quality Authority and a Research Assistant at Trinity College Dublin, where I worked on health economic projects in palliative and end-of-life care and unit costing in Ireland. My work has spanned economic evaluation, evidence synthesis, costing, longitudinal data analysis, and health policy analysis.
Research
Research Interests:
I am interested in early life adverse experiences and their impacts on physical and emotional health trajectories in young adults; and in quantifying its health and economic costs and implications for inequalities across the life course.
