Sam oversees the charity's technical work and research on salt and sugar reduction, including AI, machine learning, and statistical analysis. Her current focus is on developing scalable data systems for food and nutrition research, using OCR, reverse engineering, ETL pipelines, and database management to improve data accessibility, reduce manual workload, and strengthen the evidence base on food reformulation and public health trends.
Before joining the team, Sam built a strong background in finance and market research, business analytics, and data science, with previous roles at Procter & Gamble, Red Hat, and Delta Air Lines. Her research interests are in the application of AI to health economics and policy.
