My name is Rehan Meemaduma. I am a Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Practitioner from Sri Lanka, currently reading for an MSc in International Health and Tropical Medicine at the University of Oxford. From May to August 2026, I will be joining the M-Bright team in Vietnam to contribute to the Mental Health Capacity Building and Strengthening in Global Health Systems project. My role will focus on using the project's baseline data to investigate the relationship between selected social determinants, mental health outcomes, and mental health literacy among adolescents in Vietnam and Cambodia. This project sits at the intersection of my research interests in adolescent mental health, social determinants, and health systems in low- and middle-income settings, and I am looking forward to contributing through background in MHPSS programming. During my time in Vietnam, I plan to work closely with the team to refine the focus of my study, both in terms of where the baseline data offers the strongest contribution and how the analysis can serve as a comparator to the end-of-project data.
