Carbon and oxygen during planet formation: from discs and dust to pebbles, planetesimals, and planets

Carbon and oxygen are essential for life on Earth, but the story of how they become incorporated in terrestrial planets is not fully understood. Building on recent observations of nearby protoplanetary discs, and using the modern planet formation paradigm as a guide, I will present ongoing efforts to understand the behaviour of C and O during the various dynamic stages of planet formation.
