Francesca Lepori (UZH): Relativistic cosmology in the nonlinear regime

N-body simulations are traditionally based on Newtonian physics. Nevertheless, there are now several N-body codes that consistently evolve the ensemble of N-body particles using the laws of General Relativity. In my talk, I will present a non-perturbative ray-tracing method to extract cosmological observables from relativistic N-body simulations. This method is based on the code 'gevolution'. Within this framework, relativistic effects are systematically included, and we can investigate their impact on observables in the nonlinear regime. I will discuss some recent applications of this method, from weak-lensing to the clustering of halos and galaxies. Finally, I will draw some future developments of these works to study relativistic aspects of cosmology.
