In this talk, I will introduce a novel mechanism of PBH formation based on the collapse of scalar field structures, formed in an extended period of reheating. I will describe the scenarios where this mechanism is more effective in forming PBHs than the standard one. I will focus on the cases where an inflation+reheating model could overproduce PBHs via this new mechanism and present some explicit examples, together with the associated constraints.
