Profile
Dr. Miller’s research interests lie in the languages, literatures, and cultures of the German-speaking lands during the European Middle Ages. His work focuses particularly on narrative and literary construction of elite identity, gender, and medieval economies of symbolic capital in vernacular epic. Additional areas of interest include the history of emotions, as well as practices of literary and cultural exchange between Jewish and Christian communities during the late-medieval period.
His current projects include the preparation of a monograph on the literary roles of women within the honour economy of the medieval warrior aristocracy and a volume of new editions and translations of the shorter works of Konrad von Würzburg.
