Biography

Michaela Halpern is a New York qualified attorney finishing her PhD at Queen Mary University of London Centre for Commercial Law Studies researching intellectual property and international arbitration. Ms. Halpern holds an LLB honours from the University of Edinburgh and an LLM in International Legal Studies with distinction from Georgetown. Prior to beginning her PhD, she engaged in the representation of countries and multinational corporations as part of the international arbitration team of Arnold & Porter in London, she has also worked at the World Bank and at NGOs including Human Rights First and the American Red Cross International Law Department. Ms. Halpern has served as a Global Teaching Fellow on extradition and terrorism at Georgetown University Law Centre and was involved in training students for the international Jean-Pictet Competition.

Ms. Halpern was a teaching associate for Professor Matthews from November 2017 - the end of 2018.
