Can't Attend Your Graduation?

If you have chosen not to attend then there is nothing you need to do. If you would like to download your transcript for future use, please contact the Student Enquiry Centre or get one here.

Certificate Collection

 

Attending Graduation  

If you are attending the graduation ceremony you will receive your official graduation certificate at your ceremony.

Not attending Graduation

If you are not attending the ceremony your official graduation certificate will be posted be to your registered home address not term time address straight after your graduation ceremony.

Transcripts – If attending

If you are attending the ceremony and wish to purchase a transcript please click on the link. (https://eshop.qmul.ac.uk/product-catalogue/student-admin/graduate-letters/transcripts/transcript-collection-only) The transcript will be available for collection before or after the ceremony. Alternatively, if you do not wish to purchase a transcript you will automatically receive your HEAR (http://www.arcs.qmul.ac.uk/students/sec/hear-transcript/) registration which will allow you to register for your digital transcript.

 

Transcripts

If eligible, your HEAR: digital transcript will be updated shortly after your official results publication date and will be available on Gradintelligence once you have activated your account which you can view and share with other institutions and employers. This is a free service and is accessible indefinitely.

If you require a hard copy of your transcript and you are not attending the ceremony, you can purchase it from our eshop and we can post it to you.

Deferring Your Graduation

Coronavirus update 

Our deferal form is not currently available at the moment due to the unforseen circumstanances relating to Covid- 19.  Summer 2020 Graduation has been postponed. Please visit here to find out more. 

 

If you are unable to attend graduation and would like to defer until a later date, please complete this form to inform us of when you would like to graduate instead. This means that you have been added to a mailing list to receive updates about graduation ceremonies. This is not a confirmation of attendance or a ticket. This is also not considered a request for a refund and your payment will not automatically be transferred to the next Graduation ceremony, please see the section below, ‘Refunding Your Order’ on details on how to receive a refund.

To secure a ticket for your graduation, it is your responsibility to monitor the website (www.qmul.ac.uk/graduation) for updates on when and how to book in the months leading up to your ceremony. If you have not been successful in booking a ticket 10 weeks before your ceremony date, then please contact the Events and Ceremonies Team at graduation@qmul.ac.uk 12pm on the last day of ceremonies. Please also include the following information:

Refunding Your Order

All refund requests must be submitted in full by midday (UK time) on the last day of the ceremonies. 

 

Tickets are non-refundable. The only exception to this rule is Students who experience academic failure or exceptional circumstances. In this circumstance, full refunds will be offered for tickets, gown hire and photography. It is the responsibility of the student to inform the Events and Ceremonies Office of their academic failure and request a refund.

These requests are to be sent to the events and ceremonies team at least 48 hours before the student's ceremony. Request for ticket refunds made after this date will not be processed. Requests made after this date for gown hire / gown purchase and Photography can be processed but there are restrictions.  

 For students who are no longer able to attend the ceremonies but are not eligible for ticket refunds, refunds can still be requested for gown hire / gown purchase and photography. These requests need to be made to Your Graduation. Gown refunds need to be made at least 48 hours before the ceremony (refunds after this time may incur administration fees / and are subject to discretion.)

Refund requests must be made by emailing the Events and Ceremonies Team before the refund deadline (date to be confirmed). This request can take up to 28 days. Refund requests made after the deadline cannot be processed.

All tickets non-transferable and cannot be transferred between graduands, ceremonies or ceremony periods.

Students who have not successfully completed their course must contact the Events and Ceremonies Team at graduation@qmul.ac.uk with the following information:

Requests for a refund will then be reviewed and verified against your student record before a refund is issued to the credit/debit card used to make the booking. This process may take up to 28 days. Refund requests after the deadline cannot be processed. We regret to inform you that we are unable to offer transfer of funds between ceremonies and/or graduation periods.
