Upon specific binding of the antibody to a cancer cell, the chemical linker self-destructs and thereby releases the cytotoxic agent into the targeted cells. This project aims to deliver novel linkers for ADCs, which will be achieved via the development of a number of complimentary new synthetic methodologies using organic chemistry.
