Physics and Astronomy at the Festival of Communities

Members of the Department of Physics and Astronomy took part in QMUL's Festival of Communities to showcase our work to the public.

Members of the department had a fantastic day on Sunday 12th June as we welcomed the public as part of Queen Mary’s annual Festival of Communities. We took over the GO Jones foyer, providing demonstrations of black hole physics and exoplanet detection, built lego universes and played Higgs Boson Dominoes. We showed off our neutrino control room and rooftop observatory, and ran live solar observation both from the observatory and from outside the Queens Building. A big thank you to everyone who took part!
