CCMP PhD information

Here you can find details of PhD projects available at CCMMP, relevant contacts and application information. Our PhD students come from all over the world and are supported by a variety of sources. Some groups of students are funded by common sources or are pursuing related research within a general field, and there may be particular cohort events or research training associated to these. For example we have a significant number of students funded by the China Scholarship Council and various social and research-related events are held which involve these students. There is a variety of general information about postgraduate research on the main Queen Mary page for postgraduate study. This includes descriptions of what research degrees are available in which subjects, how to apply, fees, funding and support, real and virtual Open Days, and career prospects and employability.

Support across Queen Mary for doctoral (and postdoctoral) research students is provided by the Doctoral College. The Doctoral College website contains further information about our current PhD programmes, what we offer research students in terms of courses, developmental events, social activities, and different forms of support. Whilst students pursuing research degrees in differing disciplines naturally have different needs, they also have much in common with other research students as well as having much to gain from insights obtained as part of a wider cohort or community.

The work of the Doctoral College is overseen by three Deputy Deans for Research, one from each Faculty, with one Deputy Dean acting as Director in a rotating role. Professional Services support for this work is provided by dedicated staff in the Centre for Academic and Professional Development. The Research Degrees Office provides an administrative service to research degree students in the Doctoral College and staff involved in their supervision.
