Risk and Resilience

We investigate the human capacity for resilience - how people do well despite exposure to adversity and challenges. Using individual and social approaches, we elucidate the role of genetic and epigenetic factors in the development of resilience among refugee children and consider the role of group memberships in promoting resilient responses. Uniquely, our work focuses on the promotion of well-being and positive development as well as the prevention of psychological problems.
