Summary of Research
Brian's research examines copyright in the age of digital remix, with a view to understand how the coming of age of collective creative processes can better addressed and facilitated by copyright and the broader intellectual property regime. His research also explores how copyright can be recalibrated to facilitate emerging creative digital economies.
Biography
Brian is a doctoral candidate at the Queen Mary Intellectual Property Research Institute (QMIPRI), Queen Mary University of London.
Prior to joining QMIPRI, Brian received an LLM in intellectual property law from University College London (UCL) with a distinction and an LLB (Hons) from the University of Birmingham, where he received the Birmingham Law School Excellence Scholarship. He also completed the final vocational stage of training to become a qualified solicitor in England and Wales. As part of the qualification, he received an MSc in Law and Business Management from the University of Law (London).
