We want to attract the best students to QMUL, regardless of their financial situation. Every year we offer a range of scholarships, bursaries and awards to help applicants fund their studies.

QMUL Scholarships

University is a big investment in your future. Each year, Queen Mary supports our postgraduate students through a generous package of scholarships

Scholarships and Funding available to Masters students in the School of Geography

  • Global Talent Scholarship

The new Global Talent Scholarship is worth £3,000 for highly qualified postgraduate taught offer holders joining us in September 2024. The Scholarship is available to all international students with an offer for an eligible programme, regardless of nationality, who meet the following criteria:

  • Achieve a UK 1st Class Honours or equivalent
  • Hold an offer for an eligible postgraduate taught programme for September 2024 entry
  • Have international fee status

Global Talent Scholarships will be awarded automatically to self-funded international students with a UK first class honours degree (or equivalent) – there is no application or registration process. The scholarship will be deducted from a recipient’s tuition fees when they enrol at Queen Mary.

  • UK Black and Global Majority studentships in the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Queen Mary University of London is committed to increasing the representation of, and opportunities for, UK Black and Global Majority students who wish to pursue postgraduate degrees in the Humanities. The Faculty recognises that funding opportunities across humanities disciplines at Masters level are particularly limited, and that this may inhibit Black and Global Majority students from going on to undertake doctoral research and following an academic career.

For 2023-24, the Faculty will be offering at least four fully funded studentships (including full fee waiver and stipend of £18,062) to talented UK applicants from a Black and Global Majority background who may be interested in a research career and/or further postgraduate study. Applicants must be graduates of Queen Mary and have an offer of a place to take a Humanities Master's degree at Queen Mary in any of the Primary Research Areas (excluding LLM and MSc degrees in Law and Legal Studies) relevant to the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences that are covered by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC).

Details of the 2024 application scheme will be shared when available.
