Prof. Oyinlola Oyebode

Oyinlola Oyebode does public health research in the UK and globally on the behavioural risk-factors for non-communicable disease (particularly diet) and the health of marginalised (urban) populations.

Her current projects explore the impact of the food environment on diet and interventions that can support healthier or more environmentally sustainable diets and the health of migrant populations or those with very challenging socio-economic circumstances. She works closely with policy and practice colleagues and enjoys interdisciplinary collaboration for example with computer science (e.g.: modelling the spread of behavioural risk factors through social networks), economists (e.g.: on tax and subsidies to support better diets) and psychologists (e.g.: with Isabelle Mareschal from HEAL on the impacts of food insecurity on child development).

Oyinlola Oyebode completed higher specialty training in public health and is a fellow of the Faculty of Public Health since 2014. She holds an honorary consultant contract with the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities and leads on integrated academic training for public health registrars and foundation year doctors at QMUL. She is also the lead for the Prevention theme of the Pan-London Applied Research Collaboration.
