We launched the programme in 2024 with 10 students, and the outcomes have been highly positive.

Here are some key highlights from their participation:

  • Two students have contributed to research papers that are now submitted to academic conferences.
  • One student has been awarded a prestigious full scholarship to pursue an MSc in AI in September 2025.
  • Two students have successfully enrolled in MSc programmes.
  • Feedback from participants revealed that 85% are very likely or extremely likely to pursue further study in AI.

One programme participant said of their experience, ‘the programme gives you all the building blocks you need to build a career in Artificial Intelligence. You get to build a great network and create a research project in your chosen field, something most people your age are not doing. Plus, you get to present your project at Google DeepMind!’

Another participant said, ‘Working on a research project and working towards writing an actual paper is really exciting! I feel more confident in my choice of pursuing at least a master’s degree in the field of AI, and hearing the PhD students’ experiences has really helped as it made PhDs sound doable and accessible.’
