The Fresher to Thriver (F2T) project was launched in September 2024 at JP/JEI Beijing and Queen Mary University of London to support first-year students as they transition into university life. Through activities including study guidance, active-learning and GenAI workshops, peer mentoring and social networking, the project aims to strengthen student engagement, wellbeing and a sense of belonging. It has engaged more than 1,880 first-year students across London and Beijing.
Within this wider project, Chunxu worked with Prof. Michael Chai, Prof. Yue Chen and Dr Chao Liu to co-create the F2T Logo & Song Design Competition. By incorporating a student perspective into the activity’s design, the competition provided a creative way for students to help shape the identity of F2T and engage with its community.
The SEED Award, presented by the Queen Mary Academy, recognises students’ contributions to educational development and celebrates effective student–staff partnership.
Congratulations to Chunxu and the project team on this well-deserved recognition!
