ArtsOne is a modern building with foyer space, a lecture theatre and seminar rooms.

It offers access to a great range of facilities and support for our English, Language and drama undergraduate students including:

  • Pinter Studio, a professional 55-seater black box experimental space in the ArtsOne building. It features retractable seating, projectors, a full lighting rig, and sound equipment.
  • Film and Drama Studio is a professional 70-seater theatre and film venue with retractable raked seating, lighting and video rig and professional sound equipment including Dolby 7.1 Surround Sound.
  • Three rehearsal rooms - two white box gallery-style spaces and a black box studio, all available for students to book.
  • Film editing suites – undergraduates who choose film studies at Queen Mary have access to a large range of professional and broadcast standard production and post-production equipment.
  • Professional audio booth – To record professional quality voice-over and effects
  • Phonetics Lab - facilitates cutting edge research on speech production and perception, involving a diverse and interdisciplinary team of academics, researchers, and students.

The department also supports a community of cutting-edge artists and arts workers from a wide range of arts practices through its Artist Research Fellowship Scheme.
