The Advice and Counselling & Disability and Dyslexia Services will both close on Wednesday 21 December and reopen on Tuesday 3 January, in line with the main University closure period.

During the Christmas closure period there is useful information on:

Whilst there will be no careers appointments or events over the Christmas break, Careers and Enterprise have a number of online resources that you can still use during this period:

  • Are you currently looking for or applying for jobs? Browse the QM Careers Hub for vacancies or use our online CV checker to hone your application.
  • Do you have an interview or assessment centre coming up in January? Practice by using our mock interview and psychometric test.
  • Or maybe you’re just starting to explore potential careers? If so, head over to the Careers Discovery Feed on QM Careers Hub to learn more about lots of different roles and sectors.

The IT Service Desk and Campus Customer Support will be closed from 19:00 on Wednesday 21 December through to 07:00 on Tuesday 3 January, however tickets can still be raised during this period via self-support, e-mail or the out-of-hours service and will be progressed when the Service Desk reopens on 3 January.

Out of hours (Norman) covers from 19:00 on 21 December to 07:00 on Tuesday 3 January on a 'best-efforts' basis.

The E-Learning support team will be available via the IT Service Desk over the Christmas period on:

  • Thursday, 29 December – 14:00 to 16:00

Staff and students can raise queries by logging into Ivanti and raising a ticket or emailing servicedesk@qmul.ac.uk and someone will endeavour to assist with any e-learning related issues or queries raised on the above date.

The Fees Office at iQ East Court will be closed from Wednesday 21 December to Tuesday 3 January 2023.

On campus services will resume on Wednesday 4 January, and opening times will be Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 17:00.

Communications will not be monitored over the holiday closure.

Security will be providing normal cover, patrolling and monitoring all Queen Mary campuses on a 24-hour basis during the holidays. The Security Control Rooms on each campus will be open as usual to respond to any requests and enquiries that need immediate action during this time. A member of Security can always be contacted on 020 7882 5000.

The chaplain of St Benet's Chaplaincy is available to all students (and staff) by phone/text/email/zoom at any time over the Christmas Holidays and can meet in person in an emergency.

The St Benet’s chaplaincy at 327 Mile End Road will not be open for drop-in over the holiday but the chaplain Ella Sharples has details of local churches who are happy to personally welcome any students.

There will be a Christmas Eve carol service in the St Benet’s Chapel at 17:00. And on Christmas Day there will be a short service at 10:30. The services will be run in partnership with the local Salvation Army.

The Student Enquiry Centre will close on Wednesday 21 December and reopen on Tuesday 3 January for face-to-face enquiries. Students can still log enquiries via the Student Enquiry Centre online (in MySIS). However, these will not be answered during the closure period 22 December 2022 to 2 January 2023.

The Student Health Service will close on 16 December and re-open on 3 January 2023. During that time students are advised to use the main site at 26 Palmers Road (E2 0FA).

The main site will close on the bank holidays: 26, 27 December and 2 January 2023.
