SBCS Emeritus Professor Vivian Moses has written to The Times to highlight the European Food Safety Authority's "overdue" approval of geneticially modified potato "Amflora" for cultivation in the EU. The letter was cosigned by Professor Chris Leaver (University of Oxford) and Professor Derek Burke (University of East Anglia). They write: "We look forward to a brighter future for European agriculture, with increasing opportunities for our farmers to avail themselves of the most appropriate technologies to improve and sustain agriculture and food security."
